ABOUT LIVING WORD ACADEMY
Welcome to LWA,
The caring, certified, experienced staff at Living Word Academy are preparing young children for a strong academic future. Our school desires to inspire children to be lifelong learners. Students will observe how the Lord communicates through all subject areas as well as through the arts. We offer children a safe place emotionally, physically, academically, and spiritually to discover and to thrive in their God-given abilities and talents.
We invite you to call or email our office to schedule a visit. We would love to talk with you about your child's education and take you on a tour of our facility.
We feel honored that you have considered Living Word Academy for your child's educational needs. It is our desire to be a blessing for your family and other families in our community.

Our Mission Statement

We will lead students to love God, love people, and have a Christian world view by guiding academically, spiritually, emotionally, and physically.
Our History
Living Word Academy was established in 2012. It was the vision of Living Word Baptist Church since the church’s purchase of its current property in 1990. In the spring of 2012, after much prayer, LWBC knew the time was right to begin the Academy.
A Board of Directors was formed to include Judy Godbee, Donna Tiller, Junior Anderson, Megan Orr, and Donna Norton. This Board began plans right away to open the academy in the fall of 2012. Marcia Crosby was asked to serve as the first director of Living Word Academy.
Living Word Academy’s Mission became evident as meetings were held. Our Academy would partner with the parents and other churches of our community as they endeavor to raise their children in a Godly fashion.
Living Word Baptist Church supported the LWA financially and with many long hours of work. Renovations included a covered walkway, landscaping the front and side of the main entrance, a new playground behind the building, remodeling three classrooms, the main office and educational hallway, and the boys' and girls' restrooms.
In August of 2012, the first students came and began a new school year. The Academy began with one three-year old preschooler, three four-year old preschoolers, and one kindergartener. Living Word Academy will continue to add classes and grades each year.
On August 28th, The Oconee County Chamber of Commerce held a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony at Living Word Academy. Many members of the Chamber of Commerce were present along with our former pastor, Allen Crosby, the former Director of LWA, Marcia Crosby, Volunteers and Staff of the school, and three students of LWA.
